Your father has been in Colorado since 2007 when he jumped at the chance to
move across the country from Minnesota with 2 other close friends. While in
Colorado he completed an internship at Mizuna, a top Denver gourmet restaurant.
Soon after he wrapped up his degree at Le Cordon Bleu in Culinary Arts where he
took courses that helped him not only become a great chef but also strong
management skills. For the last 3 years your father is the respected kitchen
manager at Bar Louie in South Denver. In addition to managing at the
restaurant, your father enjoys playing softball, watching baseball and most of
all hunting. Your father will delight in teaching you everything about his
favorite hobbies throughout your life.
Your mother has been at The University of Colorado at Boulder since 2005
when she first moved to Colorado to be a Residence Hall Director for 4 years,
then an Area Coordinator for 3 years and now in a new role as Assistant
Director for Residence Life in Housing and Dining Services. When people ask
what she does, she tells them she is in the "business of
development".... meaning developing college students through supervision
of professional staff and developing systems of support. Before moving to
Boulder your mother mostly grew up on a dairy farm in Wisconsin, a lifestyle
that she wishes you could experience at times. After high school she attended
The University of Wisconsin - Stout while pursuing a degree in Business
Administration she found she had a passion for working with college students.
After that she attended Minnesota State University, Mankato for a master’s
degree in Counseling and Student Personnel (basically working as a counselor to
college students). While doing an internship her last summer in undergrad she
told everyone her long-term goal was to a parent.
